How to Properly Use Your Green Thumb!

You guys! I have kept some plants alive! I'm really pumped about this because I basically killed the garden. But it wasn't my fault, I was busy! No, I'm kidding. I was not super busy, I just wasn't knowledgable about indoor plants and outdoor plants. So here are some lessons learned:

Outdoor soil is meant for just that, OUTSIDE. You would not believe the difference between watering with the two because of how dry it gets and how much it reduces. Outdoor soil also can cause disease and pests which it did! Bleugh. Thankfully Nicholas found some super cool stickies that really work, but that’s in the past.

These are the stickies that were a Godsend. Seriously. And if you get it on your hand.. YOU ARE DOOMED. No, you're not but you do have to scrub it. Thankfully it's not a lesson I needed to learn. You literal stick them in the soil and go on with your life.

You have to water the plants. YES I KNOW, I KNOW it sounds simple, but we don't eat in our dining room often so I had the plants along the windowsill for the longest time and would forget they were even there. Now they're pleasantly placed in front of the loft/office window. Woohoo!

Bugs are bound to show up. In this case, I think because this pot was in our garage for so long, I didn't rinse the pot well enough or a little spider was hanging out in the bottom. I used to be so afraid of spiders, but I think of this as doing the job the little yellow stickies did for now. Maybe I'm okay with it because I haven't seen him/her yet, ha!

Also the stand that these are on is a a hodgepodge of a trunk lid and a makeshift television stand that Nicholas has had for ages. We used to use it for two snakes but it's been repurposed with spray paint!
